Introduction About 6km from the administrative center of Hiep Duc commune, Khe Cai originates from Que Loc Mountain in the former Que Son District, with its flow converging from many small streams: Ba Lan Stream on the left, Ong Long Stream on the right, and others, before leading into the Tranh River. Stretching nearly 3 km, Khe Cai winds along the mountainside, with forest trees lining both banks in lush green year-round. Rocks and water, waterfalls and pools interweave in a continuous chain. On both banks are mostly dark-colored cliffs. Inside the stream, large and small boulders stand side by side or stack upon one another in countless shapes. Midstream, small waterfalls chirp and tumble playfully one after another. Upstream, a large waterfall rushes straight down into the pool below. In the smaller pools, the water is clear and gentle; in the deeper pools, it is deep blue, mysterious, and serene. Khe Cai Scenic Spot in Tan Thuan hamlet, Hiep Duc commune, is still a fairly pristine destination in the midland region of Quang Nam. From the administrative center of Hiep Duc commune, it is about 6km inland, and the road gradually takes you away from the bustle of daily life into a quiet mountain-and-forest setting. What makes Khe Cai special is how the water and rock landscape changes continuously from one section of the stream to the next, creating a feeling that is both familiar and wild. If you enjoy places with little crowds, streams, waterfalls, pools, and cool green forests, this is a worthwhile stop to consider. At Khe Cai, the most noticeable feeling is freshness and tranquility, especially suitable for a short day trip. Highlights A nearly 3km-long stream space that winds along the mountainside, creating the feeling of walking through a very unique natural corridor. A continuous system of waterfalls, pools, and rocks, with different scenery at each section, never monotonous. Many dark cliffs on both banks highlight the green of the forest and the water in the stream. Many large and small rock formations are interspersed and naturally stacked in diverse shapes, ideal for sightseeing and landscape photography. Small waterfalls appear midstream, creating a continuous rippling sound and a very relaxing atmosphere when stopping to rest. Upstream, a large waterfall plunges straight into the pool, creating a strong visual and auditory focal point for the whole area. Useful Tips It is best to visit during the dry season, around February to August, for easier travel and better sightseeing conditions. Choose a morning or early afternoon visit to make the most of the beautiful light and avoid the midday heat. Wear shoes with good grip or sturdy strapped sandals, as the stream area, rocks, and natural paths can be slippery. Since ticket prices and opening hours need to be checked again, contact ahead if you are going in a group or want to plan your schedule accurately. You can combine your visit with other attractions in the Hiep Duc area along the same route, but it is best to ask locals to choose the most suitable itinerary.
